Holon yard · sample library

A material library for working floors.

The chip on the rail is the system on the sheet. Epoxy, self-level, quartz, polyurethane cement — poured from HaMelacha, not painted on as an afterthought.

All systems. Select a chip to hold one line.

Guide for 400 m² and above on a sound slab, ordinary diamond grind included. The shekel figure includes VAT at 18%. Summer hours assume a warm coastal-plain hall; winter hours assume a cold shed. Foot traffic is boots. Forklifts are loaded wheels.
System Substrate Moisture Thickness Feet, summer / winter Forklifts, summer / winter Guide, incl. VAT
Epoxy coating Power-troweled concrete, at least 28 days, joints cut and stable. Oil and old paint come off in the grind, or we do not roll. Measured the day we intend to pour. The pass figure is the one printed on that resin’s sheet, not a single number we reuse for every floor. 0.3–0.5 mm 10–14 h / 18–28 h Not a wearing course under a loaded truck. A pallet jack may wait 48 h in summer and 72 h in winter, and the turns will still show. ₪98 / m²
Self-level Ground to a fine profile, cracks routed, bay edges sound. The resin levels; it does not rebuild a broken slab. Same test. A self-level body is not a vapour barrier. A slab that fails the sheet waits, or it gets another system. 2 mm (1.5–3) 12–16 h / 24–36 h 36–48 h / 72 h ₪189 / m²
Quartz broadcast As the self-level, plus a body coat wet enough to hold the grain. Seeded to rejection, then locked. Same test as the epoxy under it. The sand does not forgive a damp slab. 4–6 mm 14–18 h / 24–40 h 48 h / 72–96 h ₪271 / m²
Polyurethane cement Sound concrete. Where the room washes down, we build falls to a drain instead of pretending a flat bay will drain. A cementitious mortar tolerates more residual moisture than a thin epoxy. We still test. If the sheet says stop, we stop. 6–9 mm 8–12 h / hold overnight if the slab is cold Next morning only if the board on the door says so. In a cold hall, 48 h. ₪378 / m²
Clear or amber showroom Self-level under a clear or amber-tinted top. The hall has to be clean: dust in a clear top stays in the clear top. Same limit as the self-level beneath. 2 mm + thin top As self-level Trolleys after 48 h. Not forklifts. ₪214 / m²

How the shekel figure was built

Israeli industrial price sheets published for 2026 put a roll coat near ₪55–95 per square metre before VAT, a 2 mm self-level near ₪130–190, a quartz broadcast near ₪180–260, and polyurethane cement near ₪260–380. Those bands are for a few hundred square metres of sound concrete, with an ordinary grind in the rate. VAT is 18%. The guide column above sits inside those bands after the tax is added: ₪98, ₪189, ₪271 and ₪378. The showroom line, ₪214, is a 2 mm body plus a clear or amber top.

They are guides, not a quote. Under 400 m² the rate moves up inside the band, because the van and the crew do not get cheaper. Under 80 m² we still come, and we bill the visit as 80 m². A night window, when a live warehouse can only close after the last shift, is about 18% on the guide rate. Coving is a separate line, about ₪31 per linear metre including VAT. Aisle lines in safety yellow, counted after we walk the racking, sit around ₪33–53 per linear metre including VAT. Flexible filler in saw-cut joints is typically ₪71–142 per linear metre including VAT, written once we can see the grid. A bay that needs rebuilding is not hiding inside the unit rate.

The formal quote shows net, VAT at 18%, and gross. This page shows the gross, so a buyer is not surprised. Nothing here is scheduled until the plant confirms.

What a forklift does to a thin coat

A loaded counterbalance does not spread its weight the way a shoe does. The wheel is small, hard, and at the moment it turns it scrubs. A rolled coating of 0.3 to 0.5 mm is a sealer. In a light store, with a pallet truck and no tight pivot, it can look tidy for a few years. In an aisle where a reach truck turns on the same spot every hour, the film goes glossy, then pale at the edge, then the concrete paste is open again.

We have gauged coatings that were described as forklift floors and were under half a millimetre. The wheel did what a wheel does. If the aisle sees regular loaded trucks, the sample on the rail is the self-level at 2 mm or the quartz at 4 to 6 mm. Charcoal is a colour. It is not a structure. Safety yellow is a line we cut into the wearing course so the pickers can see the walkway. It is not a harder resin.

Colour does not carry a truck. Thickness does, and only after the cure board says the wheel may return.

The hours on the sheet are the earliest we will write on the board. A warm July film can take a thumbnail and still dent under a wheel the same afternoon. We do not hand an aisle back because it looks dry. Cure is the page for summer against winter, and for the Friday cutoff.

Moisture in an Israeli slab

A lot of Gush Dan warehouses from the 1970s through the 1990s sit on sand with a thin vapour barrier, or with a barrier that was torn when the stone went down. Holon, Azur, Bat Yam and the older Rishon parks are full of them. A wet winter, a valley gutter that weeps, or irrigation sprayed against the wall shows up as a darker joint. New slabs are not automatically dry either. Twenty-eight days is an age, not a moisture reading.

We screen with a surface meter. Where the number is close, we leave a hood test overnight. The figure that decides the pour is the limit printed on the data sheet for the resin we mean to use. We do not keep one percentage for every floor, and we do not invent a chemical “safety” number to make a damp bay look ready. If the slab fails, we stop. The choices are a wait, a different system, or a moisture treatment priced on its own.

The safety data sheet for the resin on that day’s job rides on the van. You can read it before we open the can. We will not call a floor food-safe certified. A back room that is washed and splashed is specified for that duty when the system is polyurethane cement with a cove — and only then. Read Rooms before you ask a coating to survive a hot wash.
